From the desk of
Dr. Howard Tillinghast
Arkham Asylum

Dear Dr. Bustoffson,

It is with some regret that I must inform you of the escape of
Edmund Thurber from our facility. I feel personally responsible,
as I gave the order to allow him access to the grounds during the
lunch hour. He seemed to show much progress in his treatment, and
despite having escaped four previous times, I felt he deserved an
opportunity to walk among the freshly planted azaleas.
However, he was scarcely outside for a minute before he made
straight for the perimeter fence. As you know, the grounds are
heavily patrolled, but I fear the orderlies didn't take his attempt
very seriously, as he was bound in a straight-jacket.
Despite his attire (or perhaps because of it) he was able to
scale the fence and enter the surrounding forest.
Of course, it is only a matter of time before we recapture him,
but I felt it prudent to warn you, in case he decides to make
another attempt on your life.

My warmest regards,

Howard Tillinghast
