 | - De Vermis Mysteriis
- by Ludvig Prinn
This tome was Barney's graduation present from Miskatonic, given to him by his favorite professor, Dr. Wallace Huntington (who mysteriously died the day after giving Barney the book). It is an original copy of Prinn's most famous work. Barney keeps it by his bed (sometimes under his pillow).

 | - Second Cryptical Book of Hsan
- By Hsan
No one knows exactly who Hsan was, but his Cryptical books are pretty cryptic. Barney acquired the Second Book while on a trip to Tibet in 1991. It cost him 8 dollars in US currency, and a chicken.

 | - The Necronomicon
- by Abdul Alhazred
This rare edition, bound in human flesh, was translated into English by an unknown author (but probably translated from a copy of the Philetas edition in Greek). It was delivered by mistake to SPONGE in lieu of the 6th edition Arabic Tongue-twisters they ordered from the Arkham Rare Book Shoppe. Dr. Bustoffson refuses to relinquish the book to anyone not affiliated with Miskatonic.

 | - Ancient Arabic Tongue-twisters
- Edited by Louie Fadlan, PhD.

This 15th century edition was translated by an unknown scholar from a version by an unknown author. So, little is really known about it, other than it can be used to open gates and summon evil beings. This copy was stolen from the university library and subsequently recovered by SPONGE. Dr. Bustoffson made a copy, and it is unclear which was returned to the library.
